Regulation decisions finalized at the March, 2006 WorkSafeBC Board of Directors meetings
The following resolutions were finalized by WorkSafeBC's Board of Directors in March 2006. For information about the function and mandate of the Board of Directors, please see Governing Structure.
Approval to release the proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (BC Regulation 296/97) to public hearings
At its meeting on March 21, 2006, the Board of Directors approved the release of proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation to public hearings. Review the complete resolution.
The following amendment items are under review and will be the subject of the May 2006 public hearings:
- Part 4, General Conditions (section 4.3)
- Part 5, Chemical and Biological Substances (section 5.49)
- Part 6, Substance Specific Requirements (sections 6.33 and 6.36)
- Part 9, Confined Spaces (sections 9.11, 9.18, and 9.22)
- Part 13, Ladders, Scaffolds and Temporary Work Platforms (sections 13.23 and 13.33)
- Part 14, Cranes and Hoists (sections 14.34, 14.34.1 and 14.91)
- Part 18, Traffic Control
Part 8, Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (section 8.24) (consequential to proposed amendments to Part 18) - Part 20, Construction, Excavation and Demolition (section 20.4)
- Part 23, Oil and Gas (section 23.14)
