The following resolutions were finalized by the WCB Board of Directors in January 2003. For information about the function and mandate of the Board of Directors, please see Governing Structure.
The Board of Directors has approved consequential policy amendments to the Rehabilitation Services & Claims Manual, Volumes I and II, the Assessment Manual and the Prevention Manual to implement certain provisions of the Workers Compensation Amendment Act (No. 2), 2002 or Bill 63 and the policies approved by the Panel of Administrators in December 2002.
These policy amendments are effective March 3, 2003, when Bill 63 generally comes into force. They remove references to the current appeal structure, insert references to the new review/appeal structure, amend all remaining policies on changing Board decisions to ensure consistency with Bill 63 and the already-approved substantive policies in this area, delete out-of-date material on how policy should be applied, reflect the Board's statutory disclosure responsibilities in relation to reviews and appeals and amend statutory quotations.
