Discussion Paper:
Occupational exposure limits for styrene

The Board of Directors at its July 2007 meeting, approved the release of a Discussion Paper for consultation regarding the occupational exposure limits for styrene. At issue is whether WorkSafeBC should maintain the occupational exposure limits established in WorkSafeBC Policy R5.48-1, or adopt the threshold limit values set by American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).

Stakeholders are invited to provide comments on the Discussion Paper.

Stakeholder comments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007. When responding, please provide:

  • your name;
  • your e-mail address;
  • whether your feedback is on your own behalf, or on behalf of an organization (please provide the name of the organization);
  • whether you are responding from a worker’s perspective or an employer’s perspective; and
  • whether you generally agree, are neutral, or disagree with the recommendation.
