Cost Relief for Back Injury Claims
The Policy & Regulation Development Bureau would like your comments on the discussion paper (PDF 100kb) regarding "Cost Relief for Back Injury Claims".
In response to recent recommendations contained in the final report of the Core Services Review of the Workers' Compensation Board - Major Law and Policy Issues, the Administration is proposing that Board policy be amended to provide automatic cost relief for back injury claims. This would be achieved by excluding claims costs associated with back injuries from an employer's experience rating.
We would appreciate receiving any comments you may have on this issue. To help facilitate this process, a number of questions are provided following the discussion contained in the paper.
