“What’s wrong with this photo,” a contest featured in each issue of WorkSafeBC’s WorkSafe Magazine, is being used in workplaces around the world.
The deliberately staged photos feature workplaces rife with dangers. Settings have included a farm, a spa, a greenhouse, a commercial kitchen, and a rooftop. Topics have included chemical safety, confined spaces, and excavating.
Readers are asked to identify the safety hazards and email in their responses.
To date, WorkSafe Magazine has received responses from across Canada and the U.S., the Middle East, Africa, India, Europe, Russia, China, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Panama, and New Guinea.
In September, Objectif Prévention, a workplace injury prevention magazine produced by the Belgian government, began publishing the series for its readers using the name Cherchez l'erreur.
In 2010, an interactive web version of the photo contest was also launched.
