The B.C. Court of Appeal has ruled that an employer who exposed workers to asbestos without protection was in contempt of a court order that he cease operating his asbestos and drywall removal business.
The court ordered that an arrest warrant be issued for Arthur Moore requiring him to appear in B.C. Supreme Court.
The Appeal Court justices affirmed Supreme Court findings that Moore was engaged in activities that were subject to an injunction; he did not provide proper safety training or equipment to his employees; and he poses a significant public safety concern.
WorkSafeBC is seeking jail time for Moore.
