Richmond, B.C., February 23, 2011 — We need your help to spread the message of young workers’ safety. See how WorkSafeBC was involved in the community last August to raise awareness of young workers’ rights.
We have entered the third annual Boston College Film Festival, telling a part of our WorkSafeBC story. Each entry is required to demonstrate the power of video to communicate the positive impact of the organization’s work in the community and around the globe. Our submission covers the Raise Your Hand Guinness World Record attempt: last August, Josh Dueck high-fived 9,307 people in the name of young worker safety.
All entries will be posted on the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship’s website for voting by the general public, starting on February 23 until March 10. The public voting process will narrow entries to the top 10. Voting to select a winner will take place through the Boston College member community in March, with the winner being announced at their conference in April. In 2009, more than 30,000 votes were cast from around the world.
Please visit the Boston College Center’s website to help us spread the word of young workers’ safety and to vote.
