Richmond, B.C., May 22, 2009 —WorkSafeBC is partnering with ICBC and the police to remind drivers to slow down on the roads. It’s part of a month-long awareness and enforcement campaign targeting speeding.
Each year in B.C. speed-related collisions cause around 5,500 injuries and 161 deaths*. We can all do our part to help change driver behaviour.
Most of us think it's okay to drive 10 km/h over the speed limit and do so for "practical" reasons — to get to where we're going faster. But rushing on the road often results in more delays, especially if you crash or get ticketed by police. So, is the race against time really worth it?
