Drinking Driving Counterattack

Excuses won't be tolerated this holiday season

WorkSafeBC is partnering with ICBC to remind you that if you drink at a holiday party, think twice before driving.

We've all heard people say: “I always make it home after a few,” “I can handle my liquor,” or “One more drink won't hurt.” But all too often, drivers who make these excuses end up ruining lives.

On average, 120 people die each year in alcohol-related collisions in B.C.*

Get home safely by planning ahead:

  • Set aside money for a cab or public transit
  • Choose a designated driver
  • Get a ride with a sober friend or family member
  • Never let a person who's been drinking alcohol drive

Hear from a driver who made excuses, drove drunk, and paid the price.
