November 15, 2007 — Teleclaim — a new WorkSafeBC service designed to simplify the claim process — will be available throughout B.C. as of December 3, 2007.
The service, previously only available In B.C.'s Interior, North, and on Vancouver Island, allows workers to report their time-loss injuries over the phone rather than filling out and submitting forms.
The new process is quicker and easier than before and provides each worker with more personalized service based on their unique needs. Through Teleclaim, callers speak directly with a WorkSafeBC representative, who completes an injury report on their behalf, answers questions, and helps obtain services to assist with recovery and return to work.
For employers, Teleclaim encourages more timely injury reporting and helps facilitate earlier treatment and return-to-work support for their injured employees.
For medical providers, Teleclaim delivers a more efficient billing system by helping ensure that claims are processed quicker with fewer administrative delays. (Read more about the benefits for workers, employers, and physicians).
