June 7, 2007 — On Friday, May 25, 2007, WorkSafeBC hosted its fourth annual Health Care Provider conference in Whistler, B.C.
Approximately 275 health care providers attended the sessions at the TELUS Convention Centre, which focused on topics such as the aging workforce, lower back pain, and new research in return-to-work practices.
WorkSafeBC President and CEO David Anderson gave the opening speech, welcoming guests to the conference, and internationally acclaimed wheelchair athlete Rick Hansen, President and CEO of the Rick Hansen foundation, gave the closing address.
“Health care providers are incredibly important to the work we do at WorkSafeBC,” says Sara Gilbert, program manager with WorkSafeBC's Health Care Services, and one of the organizers of this year's conference. “Our goal was to host a conference that offered interesting, educational information, and provided an opportunity for health care providers to network with peers.”
