October is Zero Crash Month

Get ready to take the Community Crash Reduction Challenge

This October in British Columbia approximately 22,000 motor vehicle crashes are predicted to take place involving B.C. residents. Almost 6,500 British Columbians will be injured in those crashes.

You can do something about this. Help ICBC reduce the frequency and severity of motor vehicle crashes in your community and around the province by taking part in the Community Crash Reduction Challenge this October. WorkSafeBC supports this initiative and encourages individuals and communities across B.C. to participate.

For 31 days — Oct. 1 to Oct. 31, 2005 — communities can participate in the Challenge and help raise awareness of the magnitude of crashes involving their citizens. Participating communities can also compete for prizes.

Individuals can also participate by taking a pledge to drive safely. They'll be eligible to win a grand prize of $35,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle.
