On January 7, 2005, the BC Federation of Labour held a memorial ceremony in downtown Vancouver to commemorate one of B.C.'s most high profile industrial accidents. Twenty-four years earlier at noon on January 7, 1981 four construction workers fell to their death when the fly-form they'd been working on collapsed, tumbling 36 floors to the street below.
The memorial ceremony remembered and honoured those workers and the 150 or so workers who die every year from workplace injury or disease. Speakers included:
