New chief review officer appointed
The Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Pinto as the new chief review officer in the Review Division, effective February 23, 2004.
Mr. Pinto brings over 25 years of adjudicative and management experience within the workers' compensation system. Most recently he served as director, Central Services for the WCB's Rehabilitation and Compensation Services Division. In this position Joe managed a variety of the division's functions including policy and practice, the cost relief program, appeals liaison, and media support. He also played a significant role for the Board and the division during the Royal Commission and Core Services Review and in the recent implementation of Bills 49, 63 and 37.
Prior to this Mr. Pinto was seconded to the Nova Scotia WCB as executive director of Client Services, while the organization was undergoing a four-year period of significant organizational and legislative change.
