Voluntary coverage
If you aren't required to register with WorkSafeBC but would like to anyway (see if you're exempt from the registration requirement), you may still be able to purchase an insurance policy.
For example, if you hire a landscaper to work in your yard for a period of less than 24 working hours, your registration is not compulsory. If, however, you would like the protection of an insurance policy, you may opt for voluntary coverage.
