In order to help the motion picture and television industry work with their companies, WorkSafeBC has established a streamlined process to determine a loan-out corporation’s status, including whether or not the corporation is required to register with WorkSafeBC.
This process starts with the loan-out company completing the Motion Picture and Television Industry Company Registration form. Completed forms may be faxed to WorkSafeBC’s Assessment Department at 604 244-6490 or emailed to mptireg@worksafebc.com. Please allow approximately two to three weeks from the date of receipt for the form to be processed.
Those performers engaged in a starring (or “above the line”) role, but not operating through a loan-out company and who are not hiring workers, are not required to register but may apply for optional coverage. To do so, individuals must complete an Application For Personal Optional Protection.
