umbilical bundle
A combination of hoses and cable, including a lifeline or
strength member attached in a manner to prevent stress on the diver's hose,
which is capable of supplying a breathing mixture or other services as required
such as power, heat, cooling, communications and depth (kluge) indicating hose.
unacclimatized worker
A worker who is not accustomed to working in hot environments
or who has been removed from a hot environment for seven consecutive days.
underground working
Includes any adit, tunnel, underground excavation, chamber,
caisson, raise, shaft, winze or natural entry.
unusual risk of injury
With respect to the risk of injury from a fall, there is a
risk of injury greater than the risk of injury from impact on a flat surface
for example, from a fall onto operating machinery or into a tank of chemical.
