Referrals

Referral to rehabilitation programs

To help B.C. workers recover from work-related injuries, you can request a referral to any of the following programs and services:

ASTD
Hand Therapy Treatment
Medical and Return to Work Planning Assessment
 Occupational Rehabilitation 1
Occupational Rehabilitation 2
Permanent Functional Impairment
Physiotherapists
Return to Work Support Services

Referral to expedited services

If, as attending physician, you determine an injured worker requires:

  1. Expedited consultation and surgery

Complete Form 8/11, indicating a referral for an expedited consultation is required in the Visiting Specialists' Clinic, and fax to 604 276-3195.

  1. Diagnostic imaging

Send a request to WorkSafeBC asking for the appropriate expedited service. Expedited service includes both consultation and surgery.

To request expedited service, fax a requisition to the Visiting Specialists' Clinic at 604 214-6799.
