Our commitment to service during the COVID-19 situation

Published on: March 16, 2020

WorkSafeBC continues to monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation to determine how we can best support workers, providers, and employers around the province while balancing the health and safety needs of our own employees.

While our service levels are currently unaffected, we are preparing contingencies to ensure we can continue to deliver essential services to workers and employers if the situation escalates.

We thank you in advance for your patience if staffing levels affect your wait times when you call us for claims, insurance, and health and safety support. In the interim, we’ve outlined some things to be aware of when you reach out to us for support.

Accessing our services

As always, you can contact us for emergency, claims, health and safety, and insurance assistance.

Our online services are also a convenient and efficient way to access many of our services. For example, employers may want to consider signing up for our online insurance services to report payroll and pay premiums and take advantage of many other account management services. Workers who have filed a claim can also use our online services as an easy way to manage their claim.

We encourage workers and providers to sign up for direct deposit to ensure that you will continue to receive payments from us.

  • Workers can call our Claims Call Centre at 1.888.967.5377 for assistance with receiving their payments through direct deposit.
  • Providers should complete the Request for Direct Deposit form for providers.

Attending treatment programs

If you are an injured worker participating in a treatment program, please be assured that the health care providers we partner with are taking appropriate precautions under the direction of the Provincial Health Office.

Do not attend if you are ill with a cold, flu, or fever; are at high risk of contracting COVID-19; or have recently travelled outside of the country.

If you are not comfortable attending or travelling to an event because of concerns about your ability to maintain appropriate social distancing, you are not required to attend.

Visiting a WorkSafeBC office

If you are unable to contact us or access our online services, our office locations remain open. We care about your health, and the health of our employees, so we ask visitors to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 before visiting our office. If you have a fever, are coughing, or are having difficulty breathing, please see a doctor or call 811 for advice.
