Dalhousie University Population Health Research Unit
The Population Health Research Unit (PHRU) conducts systematic research into the relationship between the utilization of health services and population health in Nova Scotia. The Unit maintains the PHRU Database System, a comprehensive data set linking several administrative health databases. Web site contains information on the PHRU and the processes governing access to data for research purposes.

Finnish Institute of Occupational Health
The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is a research and advisory institute whose main tasks are research, training of occupational health and safety professionals, provision of advisory services, and dissemination of information.

Institute for Work & Health
The Institute for Work & Health conducts research, which looks at methods to prevent workplace disability, explore treatment options, and safe return to work. Research activities are focused in three areas: Health Services Research, Monitoring and Evaluation; Workplace Studies; and Population/Workforce Studies. The Research Transfer Department communicates the Institute's research findings to its stakeholders. The web site contains lists of the Institute's publications, some of which are available online.

Manitoba Centre for Health Policy
The Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) conducts research on the way health care services are used by Manitobans. In addition, the MCHP manages the Population Health Research Data Repository. The web site contains information on the Centre and the Data Repository. A complete description of the files contained in the Repository is available on request from MCHP to qualified and potential researchers.

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
NIOSH is the premiere public occupational health and safety research institution in the United States. In addition to conducting research, NIOSH investigates potentially hazardous working conditions when requested by employers or employees; makes recommendations and disseminates information on preventing workplace disease, injury, and disability; and provides training to occupational safety and health professionals. The web site contains an extensive list of publications, many of which are available online.

University of British Columbia Centre for Health Services & Policy Research
The Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR) aims to stimulate scientific enquiry into issues of health in population groups, and ways in which health services can best be organized, funded and delivered. CHSPR carries out a diverse program of applied health services and policy-relevant research focusing on population-based analyses of administrative and other data. CHSPR also houses and administers the B.C. Linked Health Database (BCLHD), and serves as the access point for researchers outside the Centre who wish to request access to data for research purposes. The web site contains information on the Centre's programs, as well as policies and procedures for accessing data in the BCLHD.
