Funded research projects
Since 2001, WorkSafeBC has awarded about $14 million to 147 research projects and 21 research training awards. Funded projects have been organized into the following thematic categories.
- Changing nature of work and work environment
- Compensation, disability management and return-to-work
- Intervention research
- Occupational disease, injury and health services
- Societal change in occupational health and safety
- Transferring research knowledge to the workplace

Please also note that the AWCBC Research Inventory brings together information about current and recent research projects funded by workers' compensation boards across Canada, including WorkSafeBC, that relate to the prevention/reduction of occupational injury, illness and disability.
