Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant
Richmond, B.C.

“My main goal at work is to help injured workers get back to their jobs. I'm actively involved in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supporting individualized vocational rehab plans, which may include critical services like work assessments, formal and on-the-job training, and job search support.

There's no standard, clear-cut approach to rehabilitation, so my work's quite challenging. Circumstances vary from person to person, so it's critical I assess each worker's unique and specific needs to create just the right set of return-to-work plans. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another. I have to rely heavily on my own knowledge and discretion — this element of independence is one of the things I love about what I do at WorkSafeBC.”
