Take your occupational hygiene experience and make a meaningful contribution to the community. As an occupational hygiene officer, you will:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant occupational regulations and assist industry in reducing workplace injuries and occupational diseases
  • Plan and implement inspections in firms and industries
  • Issue compliance and closure orders
  • Implement biological monitoring programs
  • Investigate accidents and claims
  • Attend coroners’ inquests
  • Conduct educational programs and make recommendations for regulatory amendments

With an undergraduate technical science degree (chemistry, biochemistry, biology or chemical engineering), you also have specialist knowledge of industrial hygiene principles/practices, health sciences, and technical sciences. Eligibility for ROH or CIH certification is also expected.

  • A 36.25 hour flexible-hour Monday to Friday work week
  • Three weeks’ vacation in your first year

  • Earned Time Off: Start with three weeks vacation, plus the ability to add another 13 days off.
  • Care and nurturing: Take leave in one or more periods to a maximum of five years for the care and nurturing of your children.
