History of WorkSafeBC — Statistics and Chronology

British Columbia's workers' compensation system is dedicated to promoting workplace health and safety for the workers and employers of this province. The system also ensures that workers who are injured or become ill out of and in the course of employment are well looked after — financially, physically, and socially.

This historical chronology provides some insight into how British Columbia's workers' compensation law and service have evolved over the years.
